I can't say I didn't see this day eventually coming... EzineArticles is improving quality standards that will likely have an effect on many ClickBank affiliates. See their latest blog here:

I had more thoughts on this development, but due to time, I'll just say that while the niches Ezine is going to target for reduction are HUGE converters I'd encourage everybody to use this as a catalyst to find other ClickBank niches to promote.

Nov 9, 2009 at 3:13 AM Nice Post I already digged this
Nov 23, 2009 at 8:09 PM Good post and info. There's really nothing at all wrong with EzineArticles doing this, too many people are posting garbage articles to get their affiliate links out there. This should actually help those who write quality articles.

Jan 29, 2010 at 5:31 AM This is why it is a good idea to have your own blog or website. By doing this, YOU control all of the rules and you can become the authority in whatever niche you desire.
Feb 14, 2010 at 3:20 AM Yes this is not a surprise move by Ezine. In fact it has taken longer than I expected. Their aim of remaining the premier website for quality content is at risk if they do not implement these types of strategies.
It should be good for all involved in the long run.
Mar 5, 2010 at 5:06 AM I can understand why they want to improve quality, but I do believe click through rate has gone down the tube since they increased the font size of their adsense ads and thus have taken up more of the article page for increased profits.
Plus when I did a check on all of my articles posted over several months, almost 45% had not been indexed in Google.
Mar 12, 2010 at 11:25 PM I think it could take take some time before it actually gets done. If done earlier, it could be of use to many who are searching for real good articles. In that case, those affiliates might want to go to other FREE earning avenues, for example, why-neobux.blogspot.com !!
Mar 13, 2010 at 5:23 PM Well, I have one Ezinearticle in google spot #3, so it is definitely doing me some good.
Ezinearticles is the best, but most article directories just sponsor junk with no quality checking at all. EzineArticles at least have some quality checking but even there the quality of articles has declined with ESL writers on board and IMs using outsourcers who don't write well.
The whole idea of article creating has been bastardized and quality lowered by the short term search for a buck.
Mar 14, 2010 at 8:35 PM In the long run this will have positive effects for authors because ezine will receive more google traffic, simply by having better quality articles.
